box volume for sub

got two monacor sph 165c drive units spec haer SPH-165C - Monacor HiFi bass-midrange speaker 100Wmax 8Ω - Europe Audio want to build a sub using both drive units in a closed box but not sure what box volume to use or driver placement any help would be useful cheers gareth

No, it's per driver. Have you modeled this in WinISD or the like?

I ran them through WinISD. It recommends ported. Sealed, it wants 15 liters for two drivers. F3 is 66Hz, so not a low playing sub. Better to port, but port would be way too long for the cab. You would have to use a wrap around slot design. Some quarter wave topology might work if you have the space.

Much better to put a good 25cm driver in a 30L sealed cab for a good entry level compact sub.
