Hello
I have just bought Boston Media Theatre.
Unfortunately without speakers and obviously without control panel that is build in in one of the speakers.
Could anybody tell me how to build a control panel an how to connect it in the subwoofer ?
I think it would be sufficient to check resistance of pins at the control speaker, but it is a lot of checking.
I suppose a new control panel could be a simple switch (on/off) and two potentiometers (bas/treble and volume)
Adjuster-control cable looks like this
Thanks in advance and Happy Christmas everybody !!!

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

A have opened my subwoofer and I found following chpis:
MC68HC705P9CDW
HCT161
PCM3000E
MED25006F
TDA1308
Q74C 2x
PCM1717E
TDA1553CD 2x (amp)
Could you tell me which one of these is responsible for volume, bass-trebe and balance ?
There are 9 (+schildering?) pins going to subwoofer.
There are two lines needed for each potentiometer (signal in and out) + 1gnd - that gives 7pins
Two other may be some kind of swich attached to one of the potentiometers.
Any help will be aprreciated.
The easiest way would be to check connections in the control speaker or to find service manual (I havent foun one yet).

Just wondering if you got any further with this project. I have one of these sub woofers I acquired from a local charity thrift store. They gave it to me because it was donated without anything else and they know I like to dabble in electronics. No external speakers or control panel and no cables. I would like to collaborate with you on this, seems interesting.
