Hello: I am new to this forum and I look forward to sharing information with you. I am a bit of a novice, but I figure this would be a good place to get started. I have a Bogen AP 30 stereo tube amplifier which I attend to use to listen to my old 78 rpms records. I currently have a bogen turntable which I find as one good solid unit. I also have a Dewald tube amp which I have used for several years. The Bogen is my upgrade. Does anyone have any information, thoughts, experiences and opinions on the AP 30? I would like to start using this unit, but if I could get some feedback from this forum as to what to look for and the necessary steps to take to make this happen before turning the unit on without any damaging results. Thanks to all in advance for you assitance.

This might be the schematic:

If so it is a moderatly old amp and probably needs some basic refurbishing like replacing the electrolytic capacitors in the Power Supply, test all the tubes and check for obvious heat damaged componnents. Replace any that are found.

Looks like a nice amp, with minimal global feedback.

8 and 16 ohm speakers only, no 4 ohm taps.

Interesting that the heaters of the first two 12AX7s are used in series as the cathode resistor for the output tubes.
