Bob Cordell's Power amplifier book

Hi Bob,

I sure do remember that book. You have to remember we didn't have internet back then. I either wasn't aware of most publications other than Popular Electronics, or they where too expensive. So I depended on what was at the library and their picks really sucked. So I was delighted to find your article in that application book. I really did wish there were books published on audio design.

David.

Actually, I owe a debt of gratitude to Ed Oxner of Siliconix, who asked me to contribute to the book.

Back at the time, the main magazines that I recall for audio pieces were Audio and Wireless World. Indeed, I also owe a debt of gratitude to Gene Pitts, editor of Audio at the time, for encouraging me to write a few articles for Audio, including the THD analyzer construction project.

Cheers,
Bob

the main magazines Audio and

And dearly missed for the last decade.

The electronics faculty library at poly-u had boxes and boxes with previous issues of Audio, several in storage, i Xerox'd myself silly at 1 cent/sheet in the mid '80s.
Decent articles, anything but K-K-K-Ken Kessler style (read preferably with 2 French fries shoved up your nostrils).
And wonderfull projects, such as the Nelson Pass co-conspirated power amp with cascoded output stage by Norman Thagard in the mid '90s.

Amazon Reviews

Hi Guys,

Your enthusiasm overwhelms me. It really does. I hope the book lives up to your expectations, and that it will be a good read for both the less experienced and more experienced. Appealing to a broad spectrum of audiophiles was one of my major goals.

I am really pleased that McGraw-Hill and Amazon (and other retailers) have been able to come in ahead of schedule. I really hope that will be the case in Europe as well.

For those of you who are speed readers, if you like the book, it would be great if you post a review on Amazon 🙂.

Cheers,
Bob

Hi Bob,
For those of you who are speed readers, if you like the book, it would be great if you post a review on Amazon 🙂.
They always request a review before the book ships, and by the time you've read it, the review request is gone. So you'll have to hunt for that review thing on that book's web page. Minor inconvenience, but I would have thought they would understand that you can't review something when they haven't shipped it out yet.

Mine is expected by Oct., 21.

My book has been shipped...hurrah !😉
Expected delivery is on the 28th. However there is a catch ! It's being shipped to a local (US) address and so will take a couple of weeks more to reach me ( hand carried ).😡
But then it was my choice to have it shipped there !🙂
