We used some 4599's at work on a high SPL project and I am impressed at the quality and performance of the BMS drivers. Never tried these, but the company seems to know what they are doing if the 4599 is any indication.

The 4596 is essentially the single diaphragm version of the 4599. I have measured and compared both and they are pretty much the same, wherein the 4599 is between 5.5-6dB louder. This makes sense being the 4599 has double the Sd as well as the impedance cut in half due to the parallel-wired voice coils.
The 4599 has a slightly smoother response, most likely because the opposing diaphragms cancel various mechanical vibrations. But, of course, it's also double the price.
All in all, both are great; the highest SPL drivers I have worked with. I hate to see them sitting on my shelf and hope someone can make use of them.

As far as waveguides/horns, I think it's more of personal preference. Choosing the right horn depends on the system as a whole and as well what the acoustic expectations are.
I think that if you use any of the many horn calculators on the internet to derive the length and mouth area you should be good. Then just shop for what is the closest to your caluclations.
Or, you can always build your own horn 😀

Unfortunately, these are compression drivers, so you will need a horn with a 2" throat. Parts Express would be a good starting point.

on a 340HZ JMLC horn, they mimic exactly my Radian 950PB from 400 to 1500hz.
Too bad, I was hoping to cross lower with the BMS.
