Got this cool idea for a cool little project but I'am extremely unfamiliar with audio technology and have a bunch of questions and found this website with the hopes of having a few of my questions answered. For one I'm pretty sure that Bluetooth 5.1 Surround sound exist, or should at least be possible to create. So I am curious how I could recreate this for a project I have in mind. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers! :joker:

Audio quality and performance hasn't been a consideration with the architects of Bluetooth; even the basic wireless headphone connection uses lossy compression. Their idea of enhanced audio is just higher bitrates. Perhaps they will eventually add lossless capability (which should permit DD and DTS bitstreams as well as PCM stereo), but I'm not holding my breath.

Look at WiFi based tech, like Apple's AirPlay, which can now be run on non-Apple devices. Or, there's the stupidly-named "DIAL" which is similar:
"DIAL—for DIscovery And Launch—is a simple protocol that 2nd screen devices can use to discover and launch apps on 1st screen devices."
DIAL

Finally, wireless HDMI presumably supports high quality multichannel audio along with video.
