I should have held my tongue! One last question: will installing a toggle to switch between two different cathode resistors be a problem if i try and toggle between them while the amp is running? I'm thinking it might be :/
If you do it right it won't. Use the toggle to parallel another resistor. Both resistors should be soldered to the cathode, the toggle breaks the ground connection of the second one. This program will be useful to find the required value.
