They even pulled the copy out of JBL's website!
The high power handling and robust construction of the 2226H make it a natural for tour sound and fixed sound reinforcement use, while the low distortion and smooth response make it an ideal choice for critical high level monitoring applications. Great for portable subwoofer rigs or fixed installs. To increase power handling while reducing power compression, MX engineers created a unique, direct voice coil-to-air heat dissipation method called Vented Gap Cooling. This process pumps air through the magnetic gap and directly over and around the voice coil to provide immediate heat transfer and reduction in operating temperature-a direct improvement in power compression. The 2226H incorporates a SFG (Symmetrical Field Geometry) magnetic structure. Computer-aided magnet optimization

Dear Audiothings,

MX is a reputed brand when it comes to connectors and cables but I would hesitate to buy any speakers from them, unless they're manufacturing with licence from JBL themselves (which I'm almost sure they're not). I've seen this before, and did not pay any attention.

If you're looking for 2226 thereabouts in India, you may check the following (both cost 7-8k INR)

1) Paudio P150/2226
2) Ahuja L15-MB500

Also, JRX-225 can be had for reasonable money though it uses M115-8A and not 2226H.

so is this the EV Heat Wick idea on steroids...it would be interesting to see if it can match the originals in real world use and find out if it lives up to it's inspiration...anybody check pricelines...i'm to lazy to spend and try on untested clones but still would like to know...

The link in Audiothings' opening post already has the price specified as 15k INR, which in my opinion is about twice the price of other clones in the market. Firstly, it's not clearly known if MX has their own facility where they actually produce these units and it is more likely that they're selling rebranded items from China. Besides, there's no datasheet and no parameters are given for this "1000WRMS professional" speaker. All these points raise a lot of questions.

"MX engineers created a unique, direct voice coil-to-air heat dissipation method called Vented Gap Cooling."

This company could actually be sued for the above, especially if they make any attempts to sell internationally. On the other hand, manufacturers of other clones have refrained from using any JBL trademarks, while also providing parameters/datasheets. P Audio's clone may not be perfect but I've read somewhere that they used to make speakers for JBL (with licence, I think) from a proper, quality controlled factory somewhere in Thailand. I have a couple of horns, a compression driver and few woofers from P Audio and I think they're OK for the price.
