Place the black meter probe on pin 4 of the op-amp and measure the voltage to the other pins. Are you sure you had the meter set to AC?

I just realised that this mod is for a 6 stacker. I only have a single stacker.

Going back to the blank cd mod (the one i have now) how can i boost the volume of my ipod?

Re-reading this post, I really can't determine exactly what it is you're trying to do. I thought you had said you connected an output of a radio to the output of an amp and connected the grounds together.

Are you just trying to boost the voltage of an iPod that runs directly into an amp? Why not just get a line driver? They typically put out 7-8 volts.
