Black Gate caps

Bought some of these a while ago and was never convinced they were the real deal, anybody ever ripped one apart ? Does this look like the real thing ??

Maybe, the selling feature was the graphite electrode and that looks like it. I don't know of fakes that copied the technology

I never knew that BG came in 65v & is there a K stamped on top ?

No not a K which is what I would expect also. I'll post a picture of the top later

The 63v itself already questionable for me. If no K means fake, have seen some fakes with a S shape like stamp.

Yes it fake. Did you purchase from China or Indonesia ?

It was years ago off ebay before fake caps were ever reported !

Fyr all BG accept the tiny ones will have the K stamp.

I believe you'll still see it on ebay seller is from Indonesia.

Fakes on eBay have been around for at least 15 years, probably as long as eBay existed in fact. Its a problem that has got worse and worse, but its always been there I suspect.

They might be black gate, but theire ancient, I have some in a drawer I dont want use such old caps

Pehaps it's one of the reasons that they so expensive back then. I've a Aksa 100 which I build 20 yrs ago & main board all populated with BG caps. Till todays it still playing fine, no leaks etc at all.

Given how much enthusiasm there is for BG I'm surprised that are not remanufactured again.

There was an attempt to do something close (Kaisei), however they’d not taken over the world as might have been expected.
