Thanks @Merlinb. It certainly is less efficient. Does it matter if the reference voltage is low impedance? Something doesn’t quite seem right about using a unbuffered filtered voltage divider in the same manner as elevated AC heaters. I could use a mosfet instead. I just wanna nail a repeatable voltage in the HT/4 range and have some output protection if it’s buffered.

Nice one. I think I wanna avoid sinking 3mA out of the HT supply for that, so I’ll do a follower after a hi z range limited trim.

As you can see, I referenced it. You still like that BJT in that position? Where else do you tend to use it? I should look at that ST part as well, I’m just getting into the modern enhancement options and I have three to spec (HT, bias, and phantom). The one I noted for HT is a placeholder.
