Can anyone recomend a very sensitive budget driver?
Bass response down to bout 40hz, 500-1000w, 15".

Are you using it at home or as PA (it seems a bit big for that usage) or any other special SPL requirement? Eminence has some suitable drivers but they will about all introduce a powerdip even in a normal sized enclosure. In 200 ltrs tuned to 40 Hz about every 15" PA speaker will have a powerdip making it easy to keep blowing your speakers. Especially with budget drivers.

it is for PA. i would like a very high SPL at about 50 - 100Hz (to give that resonance feeling in the chest). My old drivers were absolutly S***. I think they were about 90db/w/m.
Any suggestions? i have about £100 to spend on it but it would be prepared to spend more if a MUCH better driver is at a slight increase in cost.

For PA usage your current box is pretty big, it would actually almost be more suited as a double 15" reflex. Most 15" PA speakers perform best in a 80 - 140 ltr cab.
For kick you can tune a bit higher say 45-50 Hz. Your chest/lungs (if fullgrown) will resonate around 120 Hz, so cross around there or a bit over, it will make the speaker sound louder anyway.
From Eminence the Kappa 15LF will show good value for the money. Any series beneath it lacks Xmax (that's bad).
It will be around 95 dB/W/m. In your cab as it is 300 Wrms will be about the max. power it can handle. 110 ltr tuned to 47 hz would raise the powerhandling with about 200 watts. In any case it would be a big step up form what you have now.
You might be interested in going hornloaded by the way. You could easily raise the sensitivity over 100 dB/W/m
and still have a cab of equal size. If you're in for high SPL but on a budget it's the way to go.

my cab does have twin drivers! but i have blown one of them.

Yes you can put objects in the cab if they don't vibrate or move (heavy things, better if you glue them). It's a bit of a waste of space, better to get two drivers or build a new cab hehe!
The Omega Pro 15" should take some abuse; 4 inch voicecoils. Bigger voice coils dissipate more heat. The Magnums or the Kilomax look nice too. I don't know if any of those are suitable as horn drivers.
Blocks of styrofoam would do to take up volume; you want something stiff but light, unless you don't need to move the cabinet.

A typical gain for PA is 6 dB. Two 15" in a 200 ltr reflex will have about the same SPL with 1000 W as a 200 ltr single 15" horn with 500 W, on condition that they have about the same frequency response. For a given size and frequency response SPL is limited, so in a equal size box it might go louder but in return it will have a higher f3.
If it's a folded horn you might miss the distortion that can make sound be experienced louder. Also a basreflex mostly has more impact close because it's a sudden pressure build up, in a relative low pressure surrounding. A horn transforms the higher pressure to a lower level. Benefit in this is that the horn is more efficiënt in transmitting it's energy into the surrounding as it's more adepted and the sound will generally have more throw.
If your staying with your reflex remember to also close 2.5 (2-3) of the ports if you halve the volume, otherwise you will change tuning to much.
