Hi all...

I was in (Sort off) luck getting such two X-former's, real big size, 1000VA @ 24 0 24 vac.
Any suggestion's what to do with them? - Input appreciated... - PowerAmp preffered ofcause.

I am not interessted in unwinding them, please 😀

Only schm. i found using such voltage, was the Aleph60, but i rather would strip the DC-rail down to 22~25v if it's possible ? - Is there any way of doing that in a PSU ?

Jesper.

2 suggestions, one of them serious.

The Zen V5 Power supply could be adapted for F4 or F5 with those transformers.

Alternately, using that transformer with a couple of chokes would make a great choke input PS. This will reduce the voltage from 1.4 V(trans) to about .9 v(trans) and have a more constant current draw. If only the transformers weren't 5 Lb each and cost about $150 a pair.

Thank's DougL, i have just found the paper's of the Zen5 PSU, and is looking really interessting. - Will for sure be reading the paper's soon.

Regarding the other suggestion:

You mean ?? - $150 for thoose x-former's i got ??

I was talking about the inductors for the choke input.

Here is an example of what might work: C-59U

Triad Magnetics
Inductor; Filter; Ind 0.01H; Tol -20%, +50%; Cur 12.5A; Lug; DCR 0.1 Ohms 6.25 lb

And they are about $60 at Allied.

Triad data sheet

If you need to see the Power supply, I have it simulated in PSUD2.
