Being the incredibly adept retard that I am, I mistakenly mixed up the wiring that goes to one of the two mig mosfets in my Gamut D200 mrkII amp. There are 3 wires going to it...a blue, red and brown (which has a resistor or something connected inline). I accidentally (retard comes in at this point) reversed the red and brown. Could I have damaged the mosfet? The amp had a relay burned out on the CB, which I just replaced. When I powered it up...with no source input...that side of the amp had a 1V output. The other side was 0v. After connecting source and speakers...no sound was heard. Turned everything off. THEN realized mistake. I fixed the mixup...and now the amp immediately blows a fuse when turned on. I checked the transistors on the CB (mje340 and 350's) when I was troubleshooting the initial relay problem and they showed normal response. Any ideas. I
Your MOSFET is probably gone.
To verify disconnect it and measure ohms between drain and source in both directions (where the blue and red goes). If the ohms are close to 0 ohms it is dead.

Any idea where I could buy these?? I'm looking but no luck. Assuming of course if they are blown.

Is this the markings on the transistors? BUZ900X4S160V32A500WSOT227BUZ900X4S
I believe it is an SOT227 case.

Yes - Gamut uses SOT227 MOSFETs
Read the text on the Mosfet, then google.
Otherwise Digikey have some Ixys that might do the trick.

Say, aptquark did you ever get the Gamut D200 fixed and did you find the
large sot227 mosfets for the outputs?
I've got a friend with the same problem with his D200 and he doesn't have the coins to send it to the factory for repair.
I'll try to help him repair it if we can get some more info on the amp.
thanks,
Sam

Sam...I will find time to look at it again..though probably this weekend. I have not check into finding those mosfets. I think though that I will need to. Everything seems to link to one or both being blown. I will keep you posted in this thread. Maybe we can work things out between myself and your friend.
