The I-25N border stop is a pretty wild sight. Lots of equipment, cables, and generators. Fewer canines.
But they only ask if you're a US citizen.
My understanding was Canada wanted nothing to do with any southern violent offenders and domestic abusers. No one mentioned it so either it's untrue or this is a gentlemanly bunch. Or you'd rather not say. 🙂

With my passport I got a birth certificate and successfully made application for a copy of my SS card.(which will be mailed in two to three weeks, so don't plan on just going down to a SS office and picking up a copy in a few minutes). I can't help but wonder what it would be like if you were starting from zero. Say you had a house fire and just managed to get yourself and any others out but no important papers or your wallet because you pulled on the closest set of pants to save yourself. You've got no license, no passport, no birth certificate, no W-2's, no SS card. All issuing agencies now beligerant about issuing copies without some other form of ID...

I have mine, issued in 1952. I needed it to get a new drivers license after my previous license expired after 18 years! Since it was issued before the state of Florida went digital, I had to bring a box full of documentation.

This is in a state where about 20% of the population are "undocumented" (PC for ILLEGAL) and the 911 terrorists had no problem signing up for flight school.

I'm sure there is someone in the streets of SLC who could 'arrange' some proper ID for a modest fee.😀 Somehow evidently millions of illegal residents get by in this country so there must be some loopholes, eh? Wonder what it is they say to the boarder guard that lets them through? Oh wait...boarder guard????:whazzat:

Really? We normally let any old so and so in to receive free health care, benefits and housing.. Our "boarders" are so bad that the government literally has no idea how many illegals are in this country, good ol' Gordon Brown actually took the final and most ridiculous step by selling the Channel Tunnel to the French-meaning they now own the chunk of the UK that it enters and can was their hands of any unwanted illegals by pointing them our way..

Possession of a birth certificate is virtually meaningless, because until recently anyone could buy a copy of one without giving a reason. This was the loophole shown in "The Day of the Jackal". It stayed open for a few decades, but I believe it may have been closed now. It seemed to surprise officialdom that a document used to prove identity could simply be bought quite legitimately by anyone. Maybe its because we play cricket, so we assume that everyone else plays cricket too - even the bad guys.

Now all the bad guys need to do is put a few 'sleepers' into the ID agency. I doubt if the junior officials who issue passports are subject to positive vetting by the security services.

Certainly wouldn't be hard-did you see the recent case of a court official "losing" convictions for the right price? Case would go to court, offender would get charged, convicted and fined and then bung the guy a few hundred to lose the paperwork so his record would stay clean..
