BiB for Aurasound Fullranger?

Hello all, I am looking for some guidance in calculating a BiB for this Aurasound fullranger that was on closeout at Madisound; https://www.madisound.com/store/images/Image/NS4-255-8A/ns4-255-8a-specs.png

The NS4-255-8A has really blown me away for being less than 5 bucks! I've had it in a small BR for a month or so and it is really impressive, but I want to take it to the next level and my brain cant fully wrap itself around the Bib calculator. I know, its not rocket science but tube amps are MY strong suit.

I appreciate any help as I am admittedly pretty inept when it comes to speaker calculations. Thanks -Mctavish
 
That sounds perfect! Thanks for the info. Did you end up building any? As I said I have been very impressed with this driver for the price, best value for money that I have found in years, should have bought 10... I'll knock some together this week and post my results.
 
I've built two sets of BiBs. I added a tweeter to each one to give a little sparkle. One speaker is a piezo with a small cap in series and the other is from a set of old Infinity speakers I don't use. The nice thing about BiBs is that they're relatively simple and inexpensive to build. If you don't like them once they're built, you can try something different.

I ran this on the Excel Bib calculator. It boils down to 6.5 X 8.5 X 33 inches. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

So the front face is 6.5" wide, then 8.5" deep, and 33" tall, and the center of the driver is approx. 14" down from the top of the box? These are outside dims? The attachment isn't 100% clear; a bit contradictory as to width/depth?

Yes, those are the outer dimensions. I like to build BIBs on their sides to make sure the inner baffle fits and measures correctly. It also gives a chance to make sure the driver's magnet doesn't hit the inner baffle. Then i stuff the top of the box, glue and clamp the final piece in place and wait for it to dry. Some can't wait and listen to their BIBs, clamps and all while drying lol.... have a look at some past BIB builds.

The fourth BIB down is probably closest in size to what you are building... maybe 10" taller actually. Your BIB is an example of how 'small' one can be. Honestly, as tall as they can get their footprints remain reasonable considering the amount of sound they produce. When building yours finnish them off carefully from top to bottom because you may want to experiment and hear how it sounds upside down. For this you'd have to figure a proper stand but floorloading may sound better with BIBs this small... I should sketch a stand of sorts to motivate builders to floorload smaller BiBs. If anyone already has a sketch send to me and i will post it on the site.

Thanks Zilla, sounds like good advice. I have some 3/8" aluminum rods that I could insert in the 4 corners vertically to raise the BiB up off of a plinth a few inches for inverted use. Would I keep the zdriver the same? Thanks for the help, -Mac
