Measured spec of fostex fe206e Fostex FE206E Fullrange Loudspeaker Driver where fs is 39.03, Vas 79.9L, Qts .24
plugging the above new calculator shows folded hight 86.245'' X w 11/616'' X depth 16.426'' (internal) and zdrive 37.43'' so the fr unit is 49'' high from floor.
Can I place it at 40'' from floor, what price to pay if I do so, loss of bass, more ripple??
Your input pls, GM/Scottmoose!
Regards

If height is the problem, simplest solution is to tune slightly higher (these things are relative -it's still going to go low for a widebander); the WxD dimensions will naturally grow to maintain the Vb alignment, but it'll drop the driver down to a more useable height (& you'll have more gain through the upper bass).
That said, it's not necessarily such a bad thing to have the drivers up high, providing you can angle them down slightly -think of it like being on the front row at a stadium event. 😉

Such small deviations you can easily stuff your way out of, should you find the sound lacking. Test the speakers before you glues them with clamps on, or put a removable lid on the bottom so you can ad stuffing. Outside driver hight is very important.
hi scott, 86.245''x11.616''x16.426'' is 16,455.92 cu.inch. Can I go for 70'' hight and increase width and Depth keeping 1:1.41 ratio for the same volume, for 70'' hight zdrive is 30'' (according to your earlier communication in other bib thread).
Squeak, thanks for your input.

It's technically 30.38in for a 140in expansion path using the stock Zd=0.217*L, so 30.375in from the throat would be prefered, rounding to the nearest sensible figure.
Right, just plug the 206 spec. back through whichever of the BIB Excel sheets you wish to use with a ~48Hz Fs to get the requisite WxD dimensions.
