Hello.... and the urge to build some boxes is upon me. I am a "tube head "---"audio heaven" is low power tubes and back loaded horns..----I have horns (Kirishima /F206 enabled) and a pair of horn shoppe) and a pair of Tekton double impacts gotta keep up with the competition !!!
I have (found) a pair of never used fostex 168ez drivers the BiB on the spreadsheet makes these a good beginner speaker ( learn how not to loose digits and get a positive build experience.....) (Godzilla of course)
looking at the BiB drawings for the double fold no specs but looks to be in the same box size? then I looked at the pic of Mr Cain's proto (the inverted pic) looks like maybe he just expanded the the terminus to scale for a double fold??? am I thinking right here? the longer length would expand the terminus accordingly ? found a pair of 206e's so may try them too ! would love to hear your thoughts
PS have done my own acoustic improvements best dollar return I have ever put into audio!! James

I would say get your woodworking equipment in good order. I have a portable table saw, carpenters saw and jig saw on hand. For the price of a correct bit, I could have the beaded edges on the tube section and stand edges, as I have a bench router, disassembled but still functional. Working by myself, I find it difficult to hoist a large panel of plywood to the table saw and get a straight cut, so for those large pieces, I have to create rail guides and use the carpenters saw. And to hit those measurements perfect for 8 slices; I've read that if you can get the lumber yard to make these cuts for you, they can do a better job.
I liked my Fostex when I had them setup. Sadly, I'm two speaker construction projects behind and daring to think about a third.

here's a design which also should work ok with that driver - maybe someone will build a pair with 166 sometime

This link offers a means to use a router get a straight edge for gluing (or for squaring a piece). I have a Joint-a-Billi-T which works in a similar manner and have used it to clean up and straighten (or square) rough cuts for gluing. Also useful when you need to take off just a 16th or so for a fit.

thanks for the comments my "shop skills" are being nurtured by friends helping
I got excited that I can use the the 168ez in a BiB as listed on the Zilla calculator (thanks Zilla) great reviews of other builders while there I saw the drawing of the 2 fold bib my question the 2 fold wont fit in the 1 fold box---either it has to be bigger to get the terminus sized for 2 fold....or like what I think Terry did was cut the back down to open the terminus to the correct area
My plan is to build the BiB for the 168's and another box w the 2nd fold ---is my thinking to simplistic that the horn expansion does so at the same ratio in a 1 fold box???
