After reading the datasheet and going through a few experiments i have several questions
1. Does it make any sense to replace Rref with a current source?
2. What is the effect of exceeding the ac compliance at output on distortion?
3. It seems various 'tuned by ear' values for passive i/v resistor abound - between 1 and 3k. The 1k5/3k combo seems to be lauded for great dynamics and kick. If i am not way off base this combo will result severe clipping at max output. Does max modulation occur in real life?

Hmmm, i tried several values last night and also prefered the 1k5/3k. Do most of us like distortion?
