Bi-Amp Problems

@Netlist @conanski , thanks again you two, it’s all running and sounding great…. One quick question to tag on the end, if you had my amps, which would you choose to run the highs, and which to run the lows. They’re gonna be running for about 7hrs at a solid level, obviously the one handling the lows is going to take a lot more punishment.

@Netlist hey! Sorry for the late response!! It was brilliant! 200 people, the system worked really well!! Much better than previously (only the peavey doing everything) … now I have to figure out what my next purchase is…. 🤔🤔 … what would you add to my setup next if it was you? I feel like maybe some protection, like a compressor or limiter

It was brilliant!
Great, if band and audience are happy, what more can you wish?

Of course, I have no idea what gear else you have. A lot depends on the type of gig, sort of music, inside, outside and so on. It's been some years I stopped doing gigs and I didn't follow the market so I can't make specific recomandations. Compressors can be a valuable asset if used moderated. But all depends on the type of music. For instance, you won't use compressors with classical music. Digital mixers have build in compressors, limiters, EQ, you name it, its endless. If doing live gigs with musicians, I always prioritized good stage monitors, essential for the band's wellbeing, apart from pink smarties... 😉. Or in-ear systems, but some bands don't like that. As for protection, the best protection is a good technician at the mixing console. 😎

@Netlist so it’s all DJ related, electronic, techno, house, dnb, Dubstep basically. I have pretty much what I listed at the start PA system wise, which I run with 1210’s , a mixars mixer and that’s about it, I would def like an EQ, don’t have one of those rn, but yeah would be great to have some protection for sure….not trying to build anything massive right now, just want to makesure I can entertain a couple of hundred people for a few hours, oh and makesure I don’t blow my speakers in the process! haha. For bigger events I throw I rent big systems , I have a fest I’m throwing in Sept that I’m renting a 25k watt set of stacks for, so this is really just for lil fun events I throw in between. 🙂

OK, I see, no musicians.
I'd be looking at the Behringer DCX2496. Personally, I never used it but I know it is quite popular and there is quite some info here at DiyAudio. Has limiters built in for protection.
Perhaps others here with more DJ experience will chime in?

@Netlist thanks, I will def check that out!!, the funny thing is producing/djing is my full time job, but when I play a club or festival I don’t need to know about anything other than what’s in front of me on the desk lol, so when it comes to CDJ’s and mixers I know what I’m doing, but once the sound travels out the back Of the mixer I’m a complete noob! 😂 …. Enjoying learning it for sure!
