best wire for SUT trannies?

The transformers should be mechanically well fixed. The input and output (RCA) connectors should be mounted close to the transformers' terminals. I prefer very thin bare solid silver wire between them. A very thin uninsulated copper wire would also do. Ideally the wire length can be below a couple of cm (2" or so). There is no point using shielded cable.

thanks for your reply Icsasar. What's the advantage of uninsulated wire?

I use 19AWG kimber teflon insulated wire in mine as well as tinned copper wire for jumpers. Solid silver jewelers wire is another good option. (Slip it into teflon tubing for insulation where required.)

If you are using an MC with particularly low source impedance into a transformer with a low primary DCR and relatively low inductance the quality (read as wire DCR and contact resiistance) of arm wiring and the arm cable may also be important.

Thanks Kevin! Good to know. (by the way, I'm Steve T who came up and bought a pair of your MkIII dynacos years ago. Great amps but long gone. Hope you're well!)
