I have a pair of 3.5k SE ultra linear Edcor output transformers that I would like to build a SE KT66 amplifier with. Does anybody have an idea what circuit would be best for this project?
I'd probably go for a single 5842 as driver using either a CCS with led cathode bias or a 100H choke load with led bias (you may need to select 5842 or trim plate voltage to get plate current in a reasonable range) and cap couple to the grid of your KT66. I like fixed bias (not cathode bias) on the output stage..
Check out EE George Anderson's ( tubelab.com) popular PCB's for SE & SET, and you could always do the Simple SE in P2P, but the boards are very affordable. He also has a form here.

If I wanted to use Mikael abdellah's design shown here. I could use the 3.5k transformer and just change bias resistor for kt66 tubes right?

The cathode resistor determens the tube current.Mikael use 560 ohm giving 70mA,I proposed 330 ohm for 90mA giving a little bit more power.
The big question is how much current is allowed for your OPT.
