Best DIY AMP?

He was asking for the BEST SOUNDING amplifier to build...Aleph 2 is the only one on this site that fills that bill🙂. While there are alot of other amp designs it doesn't sound like he is interested in building more than one...so ALEPH 2 would be my reccomendation for the best all around amp.
So far I have spent about 750.00 to build(actually overbuild) my pair. Most of the parts with the exception of Semis, and heatsinks was aquired surplus.

Hi folks,
its kinda philosophical discussion, nobody listens to the
others.
BTW who the hell cares about distortion???
I dont care if its 0.1% or 0.01% you cant tell the difference
by listening.
My only judgement criteria is how that amp sounds and
compare a Bryston to an Aleph is like compare apples to
"Birnen" (dont know the english word )
Lets everyone be happy with his private optimum and
let others theirs.

you´re perfectly right!

In Vienna we say "Gusto und Ohrfeigen san verschieden"
not to be misunderstood, Viennese humor is a black one!

PS I run my Alephs (kind of #2) with +-35V and about 5A bias,
got lo impedance speakers, I can squeeze more tan 100W
into 2 Ohms out of them.

where can i get pcb`s of aleph 2 in germany or öesterreich.
host schu vergleiche zua ona verstärkä g`head?

seems to be "bayrisch"

Correspondence from people that have built them indicate the main difference between them is the X is a bit brighter sounding, and does not have as high of background noise as the Aleph 2 does. Overall, the Aleph 2 is a VERY neutral sounding amplifier.......the best of the bunch that I've listened to so far. Have not listened to an X yet, but its much more complicated for a first time project so I certainly didn't reccommend it for him to build.

Du kannst Aleph boards von mir haben, hab noch 8 Stk.
herumliegen. die PCB Firma hatte zuviele gemacht.

Dieses Board wird mit dem Universal Output Board betrieben.
