MCM 55-5655, PE test looks very good, But the manufacturers spec sheet doesn't look so good. Who do you trust?

I second the recommendation for the Fostex FF85WKMy favourites, Mark Audio Alpair 5.2/3 and Fostex FF85wk are almost that cheap.
The CHN-50 is close to the Alpairs in a cheap basket that yeilds a dirt cheap price.

^is that subjectively better? If so, in what manner?
Objectively the FF85WK is a more *linear. The 3FR30 is more efficient though.. (and there are also several variations of that driver).

*the scale (graph) on the 3FR30 is cr@p and doesn't show substantive changes in spl.

And their are some fairly simple diy tricks that work to ameriolate the few areas of issue.

I have yet to treat me 3FEx yet. I fully suspect that they will benefit from the ModPodge, more specific mods may follow.
Essentially this minus the EnABL spots (i will help anyone who want sto do their own spots)

Thanks for that link! I may have to switch out my 3”ers for those. They are close to $50 though.http://www.spectrumaudio.de/breit/beyma/beyma3FR30.html
cheaper and better than Fostex
Beyma also has some interesting coaxial drivers too. https://usspeaker.com/beyma index-1.htm
I have great respect for manufacturers that post their distortion figures.
These Tang Band W3-2141 3” are on sale! I may have to get a couple because I don’t have enough speakers lying around.😁
