best <£375 speakers

Hi all can you please recommend me good a pair of floorstanding speakers that cost below £375.

My current amplifier is a pioneer A400 and would like speakers that would be a good match to this.

I would also be open to speaker + sub combinations which total £375.

Thanks

It's a bookshelf speaker and costs £400. But the Dynaudio audience 42 will blow any floorstand speaker at twice the price clear out of the tub.

Don't look at the specs. Visit a store and listen to them.

Oook. I'd be wary of the Quads, unless you can afford a goodly sum to get them reconditioned by someone like One Thing Audio in which case they'll become the high-end bargin of the century. Electrostatics are wonderful of course, but not quite as easy to work on / with as moving coil drive-units and their enclosures. Need a bit more space too as a rule. Worth it if you are willing to accept that.

Mission = bright balance nowadays. If that's your cup of tea, then they're usually well engineered and put together. I'd still go for the Monitor Audio, or better, the Acoustic Energy Aegis Evo 3. Lovely, lovely speaker that. Clean, precise, smooth and has decent bass extension too. Better than the models in the next range interestingly enough. One of the best commercial speakers I know of under £1000UK, though it's at the top end of your budget. You'd need to go to the £1000 mark to comprehensively beat it.

No one replied to the query about the Mission M35i .
I saw a review about the m34i but couldn't find much about the m35i.

Has anyone heard these speakers ?

Any idea about the Mordaunt Short Avant 906i ?

Cheers.

Have you considered DIY?

I am familiar with the Dynaudio Audience 42, Monitor Audio Bronze B4, as well as all the usual suspects (Tannoy, Mission, Epos etc) in the under 1000GBP mark.

If you can source a reliable supplier and build from a well designed kit or plan, you could have some really knockout speakers for 375GBP (US$750).

On the other hand, for 375GBP you can only buy some entry level models, regardless of which brand you pick.

Since I moved to DIY I have never looked back. It's a complete different class IMHO.

Thanks for the suggestion. However I'm already on that band waggon .😉

Someone I know was looking at these speakers and wanted my opinion. I have never heard them. Wanted to see if anyone on the forum has heard them.
I have heard the Audience 42 , 52 and 62 and many $+1000 speakers . I had the Audience 52 with me for some time.I liked that very much.
Yeah , I wouldn't spend that kind of money on ready mades !

I do have DIY speakers and some ready made ones ( from a few years ago ).
Cheers.
