Beolab 3500 Aux input

Hi,

I am not sure this is the best forum for this, but...

I have a Beolab 3500, "mk 1" with MCL and Masterlink inputs. I would like to run it from an phone/tablet. There is a company that makes an iPod adapter cable, so it can be done.

Does anyone know the connections for the B&O MCL 7-pin DIN socket?

Thanks for any help.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply’s. I want to go straight into the speaker without using a Beolink like what is shown on that hifi4all link.
I tried pins 2, 3, 5 last night, and was not impressed with the result, noisy and low volume from an iPhone.
2 was tied to the connector shield, don’t know if they need to be floating?
I’ll try that when I get home later.

Okay, made progress.
It is looking for a balanced input.
Pins 1 and 3 are left channel, pins 4 5 are right channel. Running those signals from a single ended source kills the noise on that side, and i get "music"
2 seems to be ground.

Ill wire up a plug and confirm.
