Beogram 5005 tracking arm troubleshooting help request

his past weekend, I moved my kids Beogram 5005 in the trunk of my car. No, I didn't put it in transport mode 🙁 Worked fine prior to the move. Now, it starts up when I press the play button. The tone arm and the tracking arm move to the record and the needle drops. I can manually advance the tone/tracking arm and drop the needle also. All good. From that point, the record plays, but only the grove that it is currently in, skips, then repeats playing the same grove. It does not advance at all. I'm thinking its the bulb on the tracker.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I Guess by tracker you mean the small arm parallel with the tonearm.
It should have (if I rember correctly) indication of speed 33/45 in the tip facing the front.
The only function of this arm is to detect, if there´s a record or not. The detection for moving the tonearm, sits in
the far back of the arm. I don´t remember, if the 5005 was made with small light bulbs or more modern with optocouplers.
If bulbs, you might have broken it/them due to vibration when moving it.

The site "Beoworld" is your friend 🙂

I received and installed the new bulb and photo sensor. It still has the same problem: Starts up fine, turn/lift buttons work correctly, I can drop the needle on the record and it plays.... just one groove. The arms still won't advance under its own power while on the record. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

I read that the tracker arm served only to carry the speed indication light, and that the record sizing was done by weight.

I would inspect the cord-drive setup that moves the arm radially. It uses plastic pulleys and nylon-covered steel wire and there could be a mechanical problem with that setup.
