Bel Canto power modification to 240v

Hi,

I need to convert a pair of Bel Canto M300 amps from 120v to 240v. Knowing the amp has a switching power supply I was assuming it should work on all voltages. Is this the case with the Bel Canto? The label on the back says 120v. Maybe only a fuse change is needed.

Anyone can help with this?

Thanks,
Ronen

Switching supply

Depending on the input recitifier configuration, if there is no PFC circuit (which I presume) then the change should be easy.

If the power supply is either a half bridge type or full bridge type, the input rectifier off the mains is wired either as a voltage doubler for 120v and has a full bridge for 240v. It is simply a matter of actaully cutting a jumper wire/pcb trace to get rid of the voltage doubler action

Stephen thanks for the reply. Does anyone actually know what the configuration in the Bel Canto M300 is like?

I assume it should be an easy change but I do not want to go cutting wires or PCB traces without being sure of the results.

Thanks
Ronen
