It might be me but this text doesn't sound like it improves SQ a lot?

The ULTRABASS PRO generates musically consequential subharmonics that can be set to one or two octaves below the lowest frequencies present in the original signal. Based on waveform analysis, the generated tones harmonize perfectly with the original sound, giving you big, fat low end, while the integrated limiter effectively protects your system from overloading.

A friend of mine has one of these - it does, as mentioned previously, only emphasise bass harmonics and not a lot else.

It tends to give a fuller bass without the user having to crank it up to stupid levels - although this friend in particular likes his bass so it's pretty much up 80% most of the time, which does tend to give boomy bass as one would have thought.

One useful feature is the bass peak limiter, which can save your speakers from some damage - although who ever hears of bass drivers blowing from too much power?

Hope this helps.

I own one (Among Other brands that do the same thing)

Is it useful?

For me it is. However, my subs unload at 13Hz.

Is it Good?

Really depends on the application involved. I find
it more useful for;

Modern Jazz (1980's to date)
Drum N Bass
Techno
Reggae
Alternative Rock

I would imagine Hip Hop as well. However, I'm not
a big fan of Hip Hop.

If you are listening to Acoustic music, Classical, or old
Jazz, I think it would cause more harm than good.

Oh!

One more thing.

Seeing that the Behringer is capable of stepping down the
notes by two octaves, you will have a ton of turntable
rumble if you play records.

The most I can tell you is make sure you speakers can
handle ultra low notes. DBX has a disclaimer stating they
are not held responsable for damaged equipment, and,
I imagine Behringer offers the same disclaimer.

I remember when I got my first Subharmonic Synthesizer,
it put my Siundcraftsmen amplifier in standby mode.

If you have more questions on it, let me know. I've been
using them since 1996

As I dj in small venues and also do house parties would the Behringer Ultrabass pro be suitable for my system.

I've got no bass bins anymore since the weight of them and size of them took up too much room in my transit van[18 inch scoops] and i could NOT fit much other equipment.

So i've got 1x QSC RMX2450 poweramp
500w rms into 8 ohm a channel,750w rms into 4 ohm a channel,1200w rms 2 ohm a channel,8 ohm bridge 1500w rms,4 0hm bridge 2400w rms.

2x black vinyl covered no name plywood trapazoid pa cabinets,with 1x Eminence Delta 15 400w rms,56 0z magnet,2.5 inch voice coil,40hz-4khz bass driver each cabinet,and 1x Eminence APT150 comp horn[85 w rms] plus 2 way 600w rms,3.5khz 18db/octave crossover.

2x 5m of 2 core 4.0mm van damme cable with neutrik speakon to neutrik speakon connectors.

As my cabinets are tuned to 50hz,and my drivers go down to 40hz,and the resonance of the driver being 40hz.
Can the driver handle ultra low notes?

And i play and mix nu skool breaks, drum and bass, reggae[dancehall, roots] and dub and some garage.

Hello Bull !

Well, to be honest I never tried using the Behringer on
fullrange cabs before.

My boxes are still at 0 dB at 40Hz, where yours is at
-10 dB so, I really don't think your boxes will play well
with this processor. Maybe at low volumes but not at
high volume levels.

If you went back to subs, I would say give it a test
run.

But, having your fullrange cabs tuned so high, I think
it would cause more harm than good.

Your best bet is to rent one, and, try it out at your flat
before you buy one and destroy your speakers.

yeah Omni-

my sub is here-

http://homepages.paradise.net.nz/quadroph

its only 33hz Fb,so some songs will synth bass lower than that unloading it,so then i would need a subsonic filter

later i plan either- Shiva, or LABhorn or alternative basshorn to 25hz i think that my JBL will not take much sub bass processing ,i may wait til i have a lower Tuned Ported sub

i listen to Dance-hard trance/house, hip hop , alot of things, not classical or jazzz,i am sure that it would spoil those genres probably 😛
.

omni have you seen the EAW 2x12inch Expo 13Ft horns? they look pretty nice! F3 24hz

:devilr:

Yeah I seen them. However they are 24hz using blocks of
four. One box can't do it.

I'm using their old version of the EX 1200 (Less bells &
whistles) Mine doesn't have a subsonic filter.

Come to think of it, my DBX doesn't offer a subsonic filter
either.

😀 My God Dude!

It looks like the speaker is giving you a kiss (LOL!!!)

And you are enjoying it !!!! 😀 (LOL!!)

I noticed your minus -12dB is around 26 - 27Hz Normalized
Gain. Which is - 10 dB @ 1 watt, so I don't think you would
need a subsonic filter. Just try to take it easy on the Sub
Bass emphisis.

All in all, I think you shouldn't have any problems.

When I ran the test, I used a Tone Generator, a Crown
DC 300, and, a Radio Shack meter.

I sweeped the frequency downward, until there was no
audible sound coming from the box. The speakers were
moving, but the cabinet wasn't responding, and the meter
wasn't moving whatsoever.

This is how I determined how low subs will play before they
unload (They unload at 13 Hz) You should try it!
If you think 20Hz is low, you gotta experience 15 - 16Hz 😀
Your ears clogg up like when your lifting off in a plane 😀
speakers were moving but no sound was coming from
the box and the vent. That's how I determined where the
box unload's.
