Beginner, looking for adcom 545 II upgrades

I am just learning how the internals work on audio amplification, I have an old adcom 545 with an Integra DTC 9.8 processor just looking to improve how bright the adcom gets a higher volumes, I love the set up for the money I have in to it

More likely that the speakers or processor (or even room acoustics) would be the source of the brightness rather than the amp.
Try a really good preamp or some room treatment first, instead of working on the amp.

Anyway, this would be a more advanced project, and needs understanding of amplifier circuits and component testing, and the right test equipment, like DVM, scope, power load, component tester, signal generator at a minimum. Some parts may no longer be available. High energy storage power supplies like in this amp can do real damage quickly.

That was my next question , what bench tools should I acquire to properly test amplifiers I’m well versed in multimeters and I know this is one of many tools needed , I’ve seen upgrade kits , (caps , resistors,) and yes I’ve started trying to add acoustic panels but unfortunately my room limits my ability since I have a hallway to the right of my modest towers ( Boston accustic be 940’s valodyne powered sub ) don’t pick on me too bad lmao

Most of the "upgrade kits" have rather cheap parts. You'd be better off buying quality, brand name parts from Digikey or Mouser.
Room acoustics can be judged without test equipment by listening to a friend's voice in the room, compared to outside.
Do you have access to any other type of preamp?

I set my towers 16” from the wall 2’ away from the corners at a 33degree angle 7’ apart on the 11’ wall my sub is front left along the exterior wall 2’ away from the 11’ wall (exterior wall is 16’) , no I only own the Integra

Why not first go back to flat settings and work on the acoustics.
There are countless attempts to "upgrade" amplifiers that end up with fireworks.
Plus, the amp is probably your best component. Do you use phono, CD, or what?
