Ok , I'm wanting to build a wireless setup for a guitar one that will transmit to the fm on a stereo . I'm thinking of taking a wireless mic. you know the kind that looks like a microphone with n antenna that sticks out the bottom , think it was called a mr. microphone years ago , but anyway remove the electronics and reinstall it all in a project box with the microphone removed and a jack for the guitar cord wired in its place . so I'd have the box with the electronics and battery inside and a jack and the antenna on the outside where the guitar will plug into the box along with an on/off switch and a access hole to fine tune the station through the box . Now , will this work or is the output from the guitar too low or too high to replace the microphone with and still get useable sound to the stereo ?
Forgive the apparent lack of knowledge but loosing most of my memory in a motorcycle wreck years ago is the root of the problem .Just now trying to get back into electronics and realizing exactly how much memory I lost .

It should work, but if the guitar output turns out to be too low, it's a simple matter to add an op-amp buffer/amplifier to beef-up the signal. The Mr. Microphone probably has an op-amp input stage. By changing a few resistor values, you should be able to change the gain easily.

Ok , along the same line but slightly different I have one of the small devices that plugs into the headphone jack on a radio and broadcasts to any of the fm stations you want to set it to .What would I need to do to step up the signal from the guitar to that of a headphone output so it will broadcast through the device , as it is now it will not .It would need to be small and simple if possible , I'm tryin' to start out above what I realy remember , believe it or not before the "closed head injury " I would have understood just about everything posted in this forum now I have a feeling I'm leaving several here wondering how I even found this forum.

I'm disabled from cancer (actually the treatment) and can't physically do much of anything I used to (including working). I know how frustrating it is for me, I'm sure it is for you too.
If you can solder a little, some perf board, a 9V battery and a few parts will render you a simple preamp that should do what you're wanting.
This circuit will give you variable gain from unity to about 100.

I know what you mean , I've lost most of my memory from before my wreck which included everything I knew about electronics so trying to figure things back out and don't want to start at the bottom , but get frustrated when I can't do or figure out even the simplest things .I still have a terrible short term memory . I have no books on the subject as what I knew before was learned from watching and helping and just taking things apart and putting them back together .That started at age 6 with a short wave radio setup , and it actually worked when I put it back together . Yes I can do the physical basics , soldering etc. though I do only have one arm that works *nerve damage* and one good leg *knee shattered and wont bend right anymore * So yes I can build it , if I can figure out the parts and exactly how it goes together . Yep I'll have to look up the symbols and hope I get all the right parts then put them in right .Yes loosing the memory is worse than loosing the arm .Off to look up the parts .

If you have trouble finding any of the parts, I probably have them. I kept all my R&D lab parts from my electronics manufacturing business. Trouble is, it's mostly boxed up and stacked in a storage building so it might take some time to find them!
I suppose I should do as my wife wants and sell most of this stuff since I'll probably never use it again, but I just don't want to part with it.... at least not just yet.
