If someone else runs into a similar problem check the pot's I was naive enough to think they will be okay, but sadly when I checked them (they were russian) It turned out the double pot had different resistance in each pot inside. One had 100K (which I needed) and the other 4.7M. So that is why when I turned the pot all the way to the either end the speakers started to screech 🙂 Bought new ones and the problem fixed itself 🙂 Thanks everybody for the help 🙂

And use linear taper pots. Those passive versions which used unequal cap values used audio (semi-log) taper pots. You don't want those with the feedback-type circuit.
