Just thought I'd chuck up some pics from my first BatchPCB order, along with some notes on the service.
The PCB is for a little variable gain electret microphone preamp - yes, that's a trimpot in the feedback loop. This approach has its advantages in preserving signal to noise ratio, which, for my application (audience recording) is more important than minimising distortion.
As you can see, the boards themselves are beautiful, and well tinned, so they're really easy to solder to.
A tip for using BatchPCB - make your board as small as possible. Not only will it save you money (since they charge by the square inch), but it increases the odds of your board being used to fill out the panel. I ordered 4 pieces, and got 8, so the total cost including shipping worked out around $3 a board.
