I get what you mean, now - put a zener across the last cap in the RC decoupling chain. Or, as you said, a high value resistor could work as well.

I realize this is a very old thread but I'd like to add for anyone looking at this in the future that all of Duncan's programs (including PSUD2), LTSpice, and even Adobe Digital Editions [for the epub version of Merlin's book(s)!] work very well under WINE. I've been using all of the above for a couple of years but haven't used Windows on my home PC since 1998 except for a brief period in 2008.
ADE took a little effort to make work as you must find the standalone installer, but it none of the others had any issues whatsoever.

I will look into the PSUD 2 program. I hope it can run under Wine/Linux.
