You should have every part you need in the kit. You will need things like a power supply, case, input/output connectors, power connector, power switch and wire. You will need a power supply buffer cap of something like 22,000uf @ 16v but no output speaker terminal caps. .15uf caps are used in the Sonic Impact but it sounds better when you remove them.
Take your time and wind the inductors neatly. This is important to the sound.

this is exactly what I need to do on mine, you are terrific. Being a complete newbie, is there a web page (on this side of Atlantic or is it Pacific), where I can get the part?
being a newbie, when there are too many choices I am not sure which is the right part. I prefer to order here (http://www.allelectronics.com/index.html) but not sure if the RCA input, potentiometer, and speaker out plugs are available.

If you are just purchasing generic parts All Electronics has an excellent selection. To squeeze out better sound you will find better quality parts at http://www.digikey.com
DigiKey is an excellent source for reasonably priced Panasonic electolytic capacitors. They also have shipping discounts on moderate size orders ($25 US). There catalog is much greater than that of All Electronics.
Another source for parts is http://www.partsconnexion.com
Boutique parts such as BlackGate capacitors, etc are avaialable here.
There are suppliers closer to you in Japan, Austaralia, Singapore, and Hong Kong, all of which sell better quality parts than All Electronics. I have purchased a lot of parts from All Electronics and I have been satisfied with those purchases, but I prefer to use better quality parts in the signal path. There is no way of knowing what you will get from All Electronics until it arrives.
Considering the relative inexpensive cost of the Sonic Impact amp and the excellent sound that comes from such a prouct; the cost for tht few parts that one needs for boutique parts is minimal. The sound enhancement from top shelf parts in, IMHO, is worth the extra pennies for these sonic dynamoes.

If you are insistent on using All Electronics the switch you have chosen will work fine, but physically it is almost as big as the SI amp itself. A smaller part that will get the job done is

The RCAs that you have chosen will work, but be aware that they are are non-insulated. That is, the grounds when installed in a metal chassis are connected to the chassis. There are problems that "may" be introduced when used in a metal chassis.
I have used these jacks in metal a chassis. I wrapped some of the threads and the base of the jack with teflon tape to insulate it from the chassis.
A better selection of insulated RCAs maybe had from Apex Jr. He has nickel plated insulated jacks for near the same price as All Electronics.

The VR you selected appears to be linear and I believe you need to use and Audio taper VR. Tangent sells an Alps for $16 US. The cost of this VR is approximately 50% the cost of the SI amp.
