Check out this site and the associated chips and complete amps available. Is this any good?

I have heard the basic demo board, and as demo boards go, the sound was pretty good. There was a lot of obvious improvements to give it the audiophile treatment to see just how good it could sound.

The Bash chips seem to be made by ST, who also makes the TDA7294.
So they are probably a 7294 in disguise.

As far as I know the TDA7294 is an ordinary linear IC amplifier.
The Bash amplifier however is a bridge-type amplifier supplied by a class-d tracking power converter.

They bear absolutely no resemblence to the TDA7294 or any other ST amplifier for that matter. The technology is developed by Indigo electronics in Canada. They worked in conjunction with ST to develop a set of ASICs for the implementation of the technology. ST has the rights to manufacture and market the chips. This is similar to the DDX chip set that ST also manufacturers that is based on Apogess Acoustics DDX technology.

Hey!, is this the long awaited digital Gainclone?
It seems to need someone with a tiny bit of knowledge to point out ant possible pitfalls to wiring one up- a schematic would be nice. Then lots of people make em and debate the sound endlessly. Let's do it!!

I think I can get my hands on a demo board pretty easily. It may be worth seeing what can be done with a top-notch power supply and some better components. I know some of the people at Indigo, I may be able to even get some help. But this will have to go into the queue, I have a few other things to finish.

Well, great! I think one of the great appeals of digital stuff is high power with little heat, so I would think the 150 watt model is the way to go! Unless there is a higher power version....
