I have a GEC KT88 made at Hammersmith works February 1960.
Can anyone tell me what the base material is made of? The part into which the tube pins are set.
It's sort of light brown colour.
I'm seeking to establish it's properties. Specifically, how hot it can get without damage.
Thanks.

The KT88 sheet says:
"Base: Metal shell wafer octal"
Tbulb maximum is 250 degrees centigrade.
If a picture is needed, I'll arrange for one tomorrow.
