Does anyone know of a reasonably priced balanced stereo pot suitable for use with a balanced version of the B1? (Such is what I am trying to build.) Failing that, can anyone recommend a reasonably priced stereo pot that will have suitably good tracking that I could use two of them? I don't really want to shell out $375 or whatever for the DACT.
Texas Instruments PGA2310, PGA2311, and PGA2320 or Cirrus Logic CS3310 can do very
tight tracking if you want to go digitally controlled route. Use 2 chips (+ and -) signals
through each channel + PIC controller.

You are probably better off with a shunt attenuator for tracking.

Thanks for both of these suggestions. The stepped shunt thing looks like an option, though two of them are almost as much as the DACT. I've no clue about the digitally controlled stuff.
Why 2? One of them (its a stereo attenuator) can handle both channels, because you are not attenuating the 2 inputs separately. Because its 1 shunt element, CMRR is preserved.though two of them are almost as much as the DACT

Yes, sorry, that was silly. I can build these things, but it doesn't mean I understand them.
Anyway, thanks again for the suggestion. Now another possibly silly question. How exactly does this thing get wired into the circuit? I ask about this both as regards the balanced use and, perhaps before I get that built, the unbalanced use.
