Balanced Microphone Preamp

Hi,
I'm looking at building a microphone preamp with balanced and unbalanced line outputs.
i have this design from silicon chip ,how can i get unbalanced input from the same design while i still have balanced input
for
reference

Apply input to pin 2 of Con1 and connect pin 3 to pin 1 = unballanced input. If that is what you meant.

This breaks the "pin1 problem" rule.

There must be a better way.
A drawing showing how it should be done would help us all.

Pin1 goes to Chassis.
Do not any part of the Signal to Chassis. Not the Signal Flow/Hot, nor the Signal Return/Cold.

i have proposed 2 options

options 1 and options 2
