It depends on the baffle width and crossover point. If you are crossing at the appropriate point and the woofers' net response is 6 dB higher than the mids, you can skip a BSC circuit. Check out The Edge from www.tolvan.com for an excellent, free baffle step simulator
Don't employ 6 dB full bsc by any method. Only 3. In stereo the 2 speakers are gonna correlate up to the hundreds region due to their relatively long inter-distance related wavelength. Your in room power response (in other words what you gonna finally perceive) is going to be bass heavy with 6dB of bsc.
