Ok, I punched numbers in (online calculator) for a w8-2145 with a 4mh baffle step coil (1.24 ohms).
The Qts goes up from .45 to .495
For a sealed qtc .707 box.
Vb goes up from 1.63ft3 to 2.3ft3
F3 = fsb = 63hz goes down to 57hz (audible ? probably not)
Ported (standard 4th)
Vb goes from 3.43ft3 to 4.7ft3
Tuning goes from 35.7hz to 32.5hz
F3 goes from 34.13hz to 29hz
I assume (yup, I know the saying, but got to try), use the new numbers for ideal box size ?

Thanks Larry.
I’ve been looking at the raven speaker.
But use with a 2145 and baffle step.
I got it sounding best when it left my house.
It needed huge bass boost for my volumes.
I learned of dispersion and distance bass (I find an 8” has bass out to 7’ or so).
1 listening spot, 1 pair of ears sitting No more than 7’ away, it was absolutely amazing.
Not a magnifier, but a smooth relaxing sound with no fatigue.
You just wanted to keep listening.

In theory, so always point it out, but truth be told I only did it for matching impedance systems, relying on the extra Vb I added for tower/column [MLTL] alignments and 'critically' damping the vent for the rest to tighten up any 'ringing' box alignments. 😉

Well, maybe.
If you put the BSC resistor in parallel, what's the new DC resistance in series with the speaker?
Additional resistance in series affects Qes, which then changes Qts, which then changes the box alignment.
