Baffle mounting with wood inserts

I want the front baffle to be removable and I want it to be able to take it on and off without worrying about striping the hole out.

I will mount the baffle to the edge of 3/8 Baltic Birch and I want to use an insert in the edge of the plywood. Can I use the 13/64 Hurricane nuts that PE sells? My 3/8 ply is not very wide hence the question.
