dunno exact procedure for live feeds , but maybe it's worth setting to 720 max ?

For Germans: To get around the "Live streaming is not available in your country due to rights issues" message of Youtube: OpenVPN with it's PrivateTunnel client works nice.

live coverage on Michaels YouTube channel is live! a little periodic freeze here and there on video/ audio checked resolutions 360 and 720 HD , IMO still watchable. probably network 'stuff' on sending end links.
