I can tell you what that 2.5 crossover is just by looking at it. About 4mH on the bass, about 1mH and 8uF on the midbass, and 4uf and about 0.3mH on the tweeter. The resistor might be level adjusting the tweeter. Or it might be in the 8uF shunt on the midbass.

TBH, it can be improved. But that's for another day. 🙂

Let's hear what you got. I'm all ears. Remember I'm an old car audio and active guys so all this resistor stuff is all new to me. So speak slowly and us illustrations. 😉

OK, I'll bite. AFAIK, the MA 8i is three 5 inch metal cones arranged as a 2.5 way.

Now metal cones can be very revealing, but you usually need a notch filter on their worst excesses. Because when they break up, it is just ghastly. We'll take a superb SEAS L15RLY/P as an example: H1141-08 L15RLY/P

Even in a simple two-way, you need a seriously good crossover to get them unfatigueing. Our own Joachim Gerhard had a very fine design with his Anima two way. But not a simple crossover. This is deep stuff and the notch to take out the horrors at about 8kHz must be precisely aligned.
