Bought a DacMagic Plus about 7 weeks ago.
The device is now kaput.
It started with a blinking 44.1 kHz sample rate LED. Then the LED died. Then I couldn't get sound at that sample rate. I could switch to other sample rates and it would play.
Now nothing but static comes out of the device.
I tried it on other computers, even hooked up a digital out from my home receiver. Still nothing but silence or noise.
I contacted Cambridge Audio about the problem through their website and they told me that I needed to contact my dealer or distributor about it.
I bought from Crutchfield, and as far as I know they only sell equipment, they do not do repairs.
Horrible answer. I emailed them again, but right now I strongly fear that they are not going to warranty my $500 DAC.

Hi,
Have you contacted Crutchfield about this issue?
Have you read and understood the terms and conditions of your warranty?
Return to place of purchase is not an unusual requirement.
As suggested above, contact the dealer.

I'm pretty sure if you bought it 7 weeks ago the place you bought it will take care of you as a customer.

Oh, I posted a link to Arcam instead of Cambridge Audio. Sorry about that.
