so this is my 1st post on this site.....

I have been a lurker and have been just reading...

I have a few ????'s
I am rebuilding a tube buffer, see this link....

so the ? is this....
when I hook up the tube sockets what is the best way?
1 individual wires, have silver wire from a missle guidence builder
2 individual wires but twisted together
3 a wire bundle that has built in shielding (10con) and do I hook up the shield wire.

and as for the pic at the bottom, I will be back....

individual wires, preferably without the missile attached. DONT twist them together except for the heater wires if you are running AC heaters.

Single-cored wires have greater mechanical strength than multi-cored ones. They keep their shape better and can be layed into the corners of the chassis to reduce noise.

Agreed, that's my preference too. It has the added advantage of avoiding the risk of stray strands shorting against adjacent pins.
