In my previous builds, I have used Antek transformers, which come with pads and a nut and bolt to attach transformers with. So, far this arraignment has been now-problematic. I have heard that using a metal bolt to attach toroidal type transformers to case can cause problems if done incorrectly.
For my BA-3 build I am using a SumR toridal, 24+24 1000VA that was part of a group buy for the Turbo F-5. The "donut hole" of this massive piece is filled with a plastic substance with a bolt size hole drilled through it. My assumption, and please correct me if I am wrong, is that this will insulate it from the bolt at least...Am I OK to bolt this to the ventilated floor pan of my DIYStore 5U chassis? If not, proper suggestions would be appreciated.
I also have an Antek 18 + 18 500VA that I have used before which is fine in this arraignment.
Thanks,
Russellc

Bolt through the center is fine. The problem I once had was using a metal cover for the transformer with a bolt through the center. This acted like a shorted turn on the transformer.
The bolt only causes a problem if it contacts the chassis on both sides of the torroid. That's when it looks like a shorted turn. I'm trying to fit an 80VA torroid in a 1U chassis. PM me if you have a solution.

I had head something like that, thanks for the response. Mine will only be bolted to the floor pan, so I should be good to go.
