Hi,
I have a B&W PV1 that has decided to not power up properly anymore. When you turn power on now, you get a thump from both drive units, then the red LED turns blue and the electronic control display comes on, then another thump and display goes off and led goes to red again.. this then just keep cycling in this state until you remove power..
Has anyone ever come across this before and have any ideas how to fix the problem?
Thanks

no1 suspect is cold solder or wire connection no2 bad capacitor.and no3 is more options after doing and check the first two
Thanks. I've got some caps on order now for the power supply and will go over all the solder joints. I'll let you know how I get on.

Hi afa, unfortunately the PV1D is a completely different board/layout to the PV1. I have already replaced a few caps in a similar location to c284 fix in that thread but still have the issue but I really appreciate you sending the link over
THIS IS B&W SUBWOOFER PV1 POWER SUPPLY MODULE
Hi I have removed the mosfet and the resistor still there is short and I checked all the diodes and the capacitor on the all power supply module board they all are reading fine ? Could it be as there are 2 mosfet on the same heat sink which are exactly the same but on the other mosfet K2842 I checked there is no short on the gate and source? And why on this there is short between gate and source? In picture shown With the resistor and mosfet K2842 removed? Or is this curcuit works this way ? Please kindly see the pictures attached waiting for your reply Thankyou
