I'm sure this has been discussed but I haven't found it on here. Anybody done any kind of reverse engineering to the B&W 802's? I want a pair for mastering but can hardly afford them. I have a few grand to spend but not 6+k.

Even if you had a full set of schematics of the design (which are available online BTW) you would not be able to build a clone for under 6K.
The drivers are available as replacement parts but the cabinet design is well out of the realm of DIY construction, certainly under 6K.

Why dont you get the spare drivers and build your own regular square box with the same volume as the bw 802, with seperate box for mids ?
Thank you for the replies! Definitely not as expensive as I would have thought either. I'm sure a lot of the cost is man hours building them.
