Reppeling, that is why I used the rig with the beam on top. Very dangerous to drill out the rivets with such thing!
Nice of you to share this, even though it's sad that you killed it. By the way - what happened with it?
A hardware failure in my dsp killed it............😡
Maybe this is a nice exercise to make a new foil, it isn't rocket science!

no it might be really easy only getting the exact same as the other one would be tricky. or are they both fried ?
Ordered a new one. But it will be a nice project to see if I can make a new foil and compare it it with a original one. It is just a mylar foil with 4 conductors and two stripes cellotape.... Step one: the thickness of the mylar.
Any ideas?

10- 12 my.
Mylar is the same as PET, polyester.

You mean 10-12 micrometer?

If you know the length and width of the conductor. Thickness can be calculated

4 lines each 1.25m long = 5 meter and 4.5 mm wide. Total resistance should be 4 ohm. Have to find my calculator....😀

I live only about 3 miles away from their factory, I wish there was a way I could visit or even just hear a speaker without having to go the "authorized dealer" route.
5 meter long 4,5mm wide then it's about 7,5 u thick.
Rob
That' s very thin, standard household alu foil is 10u.
